Loftmynd previously stored client data in its own data centre. As client numbers and data volumes grew, the setup no longer scaled. More capacity would have required further hardware investment. The team therefore sought an external S3 object storage solution with seamless Acronis integration, comparable performance, fair pricing and compliance with Swiss data protection requirements. Its clients also wanted to avoid US providers.
As Impossible Cloud is an integrated Acronis partner, Loftmynd was easily able to add Impossible Cloud to its existing Acronis backup configuration. Impossible Cloud’s native integration with Acronis allowed Loftmynd to create and assign buckets and set storage limits directly within the Acronis management portal. According to Loftmynd, another advantage of storing their backup data with Impossible Cloud is that the solution meets Swiss data protection requirements. Impossible Cloud is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and data can be stored in Germany or other European countries, depending on one’s preferences. After switching to Impossible Cloud storage for their Acronis backups, Loftmynd also experienced significantly shorter recovery times and no longer felt constrained by their own data storage infrastructure for growth.
